Daniel Jang received graduate degrees in Performance and Chamber Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he earned the Chamber Music Award and the Dean’s Award for service to the Conservatory. He has performed chamber music with members of the Juilliard, Kronos, Concord and Miami String Quartets, the Beaux Arts Trio, John Adams, Ian Swensen, Axel Strauss, Paul Hersh, and Bonnie Hampton. His performances have been hailed by the San Francisco Classical Voice as being “the most fluid and involving performance” which “exceeded even that of high praise,” and the San Francisco Examiner exclaimed that “this is the sort of performance that makes an audience leap to its feet at the final note.” He has been Artist-in-Residence at the Aspen Music Festival, the Banff Center, Sunflower Music Festival, and Kent State University where he worked with the Emerson, Takács and Miró String Quartets, Don Weilersten, Robert Mann, Jamie Laredo, and also performed with the Cleveland Symphony. He has also enjoyed great success as violist of the Nexus String Quartet, winning Grand Prize at the National Plowman Competition, as well as top prizes in the Hugo Kauder and Concert Artist Guild Competitions.
